The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Sr. Manager of Sponsored Programs. The individual will be responsible for the development and management of the CRS divisional budget including assisting in the preparation of the CRS cost center budget, sponsored programs portfolio and expected revenue, and perform continuous fiscal monitoring. Create and manage procedures for the efficient operation of pre-award application preparation and processing required for all CRS clinical trials to be submitted to ORA, Research Administration and UMH and JHS hospitals. Assist with financial budget analysis. Serve as liaison with UMHC/SCCC and JMH to identify patients enrolled on UM/Sylvester clinical trials to ensure compliance and proper patient billing. Create and manage central records pertaining to patient-related accounts payable. Responsible for establishing a mechanism for regular financial reporting to Principal Investigators and research staff, ensuring all payroll transactions charged to contracts are processed accurately and within established deadlines. Responsible for overseeing the invoicing and monitoring of funds received and expenses incurred, allocating staff/faculty support appropriately and in a timely manner, overseeing the review and monthly reconciliations of sponsored accounts and variances to budget, perform all post-award accounts payable and receivable activities, prepare periodic financial reports and other reports as required for study close-out, ad hoc analyses or other financial activities. Serve as the primary liaison to Principal Investigators, Research Administration, ORA, and UM and JHS Clinical Research Revenue Cycle offices. Administer invoice and payment infrastructure for the UM/Sylvester Time Accounting salary chargeback system. Manage revenue stream into the CRS Cost Center and reconcile monthly the CRS pharmaceutical default account. Supervise staff working with pre and post awards management of the clinical trials and cooperative group studies. Work with CRS Director and management team to develop and improve policies and procedures. Participate in CRS Management team meetings and projects. Ensure Business office adherence to sponsored programs regulations and clinical trial guidelines.10. Responsible for the pre and post award functions related to Sylvester’s Intramural clinical trial acceleration awards. This includes determining what the standard of care costs are, determining personnel efforts and administrative fees, analyzing the protocol and final budget, allocating costs, monitor spending and creating detailed reports and analysis for each study. Other duties as assigned.The minimum requirements are: Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience. Masters’ degree in public health or related field preferred. Experience in a cancer center or hospital setting preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
