The Office of Professional Advancement is seeking a part time instructor for the Geographic Information Systems Certificate Program. Instructor will design and teach the GIS programming and scripting module for the University's non-credit GIS Certificate Program. This module will introduce students to basic programming concepts, methods and approaches and focus on using the Python scripting language for automation and tool creation within the ArcGIS and QGIS desktop frameworks. The non-credit GIS Certificate Program is a 16-week Saturday only program, which introduces attendees to fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems. The desired candidate will work with the Lead Instructor in the Department of Geography to design the module and will subsequently deliver it to students. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's desired; Work experience in programming and scripting for GIS strongly Preferred.
