Non-Tenure-Track, Visiting Instructor of Sociology
The University of North Alabama Department of Sociology and Family Studies invites applications for a one-semester Visiting Instructor position for the spring 2019 semester. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Sociology, but preference will be given to those with a Ph.D. or who are nearing completion of a Ph.D. Candidate must be able to teach classes in traditional and online format.
We seek candidates with a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate education. The person hired for this position will teach courses in the general education curriculum and be qualified to teach courses in the areas of family studies, aging and life course. Secondary areas could include one of the following subfields: inequality, criminology. The individual will also contribute to advising sociology majors and participate in recruitment activities on campus. The visiting instructor position is for a one semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal. The instructor will be evaluated annually to determine reappointment.
