Administrative Associate:
The College Transition Collaborative (CTC) lab of Psychology Department is looking for a full time Administrative Associate. This position is located in the Bay Area, CA.
The CTC is a research / practice partnership that aims to improve students' success in the transition to college. It brings together preeminent social scientists and forward-thinking colleges and universities to address institutional practices that shape students' mindsets about learning and college. These include students' perceptions of whether or not they belong in college and whether they can succeed, especially when they encounter the inevitable challenges that arise in the transition to college. In collaboration with postsecondary institutions nationwide, CTC creates and evaluates inexpensive, scalable tools and strategies for colleges and universities; works with administrators to develop effective ways to adapt and deploy them in diverse settings; and rigorously evaluates the effects of these interventions on persistence and achievement, especially among first-generation and under-represented college students.


The Administrative Associate role is an important opportunity for CTC to streamline its internal processes around maintaining the ongoing project workplans of our research practice partnerships, including facilitating communication with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and advance progress. Core duties include: maintaining and updating workflows, monitoring project scope and schedule, initiating and responding to communications with external project partners, school partners, and PIs.


This individual will be an essential team member who: is passionate about efforts to improve equity for marginalized and underrepresented populations, particularly through an educational and psychological lens; is comfortable in a complex, collaborative work environment; is able to multitask and manage competing priorities; communicates clearly and professionally with varied audiences (i.e., researchers and practitioners).
This is a one year fixed term position with possibility of renewal.

CORE DUTIES*:
  • Disseminate routine communications such as memos, notices, emails, and letters.
  • Perform office duties including, but not limited to, handling of incoming and outgoing mail, entering data into basic tables, reports, or spreadsheets, making copies, and monitoring and ordering of office supplies.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, and initiate purchase requisitions.
  • Arrange meetings and assist with routine conferences including scheduling rooms, managing equipment, ordering meals and assembling materials.
  • Create and maintain files and filing systems.
    * - Other duties may also be assigned

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Education & Experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A four year degree is preferred.



    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
  • Ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.
