Position Summary: The UNC School of Dentistry Department of Oral and Craniofacial Health Sciences invites applications for a fixed term faculty position at the Research Instructor level. The department seeks an outstanding junior scientist in foundational biomedical research with an interest in epithelial stem cell biology related to the oral cavity. Although the area of research is flexible, this person will integrate molecular and cellular models of human disease.

Education Requirements: The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Oral Health Sciences, Developmental Biology, or another life or biological sciences discipline.
Qualification and Experience: A minimum of 1 year of postdoctoral research experience is preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong record of recent accomplishments as a postdoctoral fellow and will be expected to develop an independent research program, compete for extramural and intramural funding and participate in professional and graduate student education. The successful candidate needs to have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, state-of-the-art experimental laboratory skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other investigators and trainees. Experience in advanced cell imaging and fate mapping is highly desirable.
