Advertised Job Summary: This position supports the communications needs of the Benefits team by identifying and implementing ways and methods to appropriately communicate messages from the Benefits Office to include presentation and maintenance of information communicated. Provide assistance and facilitate appropriate transactions on behalf of benefits eligible faculty, staff, their eligible dependents, University administrators, and other authorized interests concerning state and university insurance and pension benefits, leave, Workers' Compensation, and other related issues as indicated by Federal, State and University laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Facilitate new employee insurance/pension benefit orientation, answer questions regarding benefit details, and coordinate the enrollment process. Provide assistance of an expert nature in regards to qualifying benefit changes and assist in the resolution of complex benefit issues. Assist employees with pre-retirement planning needs. Conducts training and counseling sessions, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience administering PEBA Insurance and/or Retirement programs.
