The College of Design invites applications for its position of Recruitment Officer. This position is responsible for working directly with the Associate Dean for Students and collaborating with unit directors, faculty recruitment coordinators, and staff to develop and implement a multi-tiered recruitment strategy for all undergraduate and graduate programs through university-wide and external activities, and coordination of recruiting events. The Officer assists directors with international recruiting; develops relationships with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors and other relevant partners; coordinates campus visits and college events; travels in-state and out-of-state as necessary for recruiting events; and develops and implements recruiting practices aimed at increasing diversity within the College. The Officer will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, and is expected to recruit for the College's existing, new and pending programs. The Officer also reviews student applications and manages recruitment scholarships. The position will also participate in K-12 outreach, efforts to recruit current undergraduate students interested in a change of major, as well as for summer programs. The Officer will lead training and cultivation of a team of student ambassadors and with them, work evening and weekend events as needed.

    Research

    In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
