Facilities Maintenance

Responsibilities

Assists in the management, administrative direction, and coordination of staff and activities for the Zone Maintenance, Maintenance Shops, and In-House Construction operational units that comprise Facilities Maintenance.

Responsible for operational and administrative oversight of the Facilities Maintenance Department. Serves as a member of the senior management team. Provides direction and oversight regarding the corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance programs to the Facilities Maintenance Assistant Directors responsible for the department's zone maintenance program. Provides guidance to the in house construction team regarding the renovations and major repairs. Responsible for the preparation and overall management of the Facilities Maintenance and in house construction operational budgets.

Participates in the development and administration of the Facilities Maintenance Critical Maintenance Capital Plan. Also, develops capital improvement plans take advantage of cost savings opportunities or reliability improvements. Leads the strategic planning effort for the Facilities Maintenance team. Ensures that the mission of Facilities Maintenance is fully integrated into the University Strategic Plan. Participates in the development of University / Facilities policies and procedures. Ensure that maintenance and in house construction groups remain in compliance with all Federal, State, local, and University environmental and safety regulations. Programs included, but not limited to are: Refrigerant Management Program, MS4 Phase II Stormwater, confined space, the asbestos abatement program, and Lab Work Permit program.

Develops and manages the customer service program for the Facilities Maintenance Department. Maintains contact with University officials and various levels of University administrative, research, and academic staff to insure quality control and customer satisfaction.

Leads the Facilities Maintenance and in house construction continuous improvement program. Works with other University resources to develop and maintain KPIs. Incorporates accepted continuous improvement processes such as LEAN and 5S into the normal maintenance processes. Manages to transition to an asset based preventative maintenance program with the appropriate metrics to insure both the quality and satisfactory execution.

Qualifications

Master's degree and four years of experience related to facilities and/or grounds services or a Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience.

Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.

Experience and/or the ability to train and supervise employees.

Experience or knowledge of and the ability to strategically align tasks and people with organizational goals and objectives

Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, goals, and objectives

A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
