Responsibilities

Primary support and maintenance of the University's web application hosting infrastructure including Java (J2EE), GlassFish, Tomcat, Weblogic, Apache, Coldfusion and F5 BIG-IP. This includes responsibility in identifying and implementing improvements and enhancements for all components that comprise the web application hosting domain.

Optimizes the performance and reliability of web application hosting systems by analyzing their performance, resolving various issues, and tuning the application parameters as needed. This includes troubleshooting, researching errors, and applying appropriate reconfigurations or patches/fixes as necessary.

Provides as-needed support of the University*s document management system, including providing reports from Oracle and SQL databases, maintaining DB stored procedures, maintaining custom JSP pages

Provides support and judgment with application upgrades for web application hosting systems and other duties as needed

Shares responsibilities for providing support 24x7 and performs other duties as necessary.

Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years experience or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to eight years.

Experience supporting web based applications.

Experience supporting applications running on a Linux operating system

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to convey technical information to technical and non- technical users.

Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

Ability to document existing and new processes.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Ability to utilize problem solving skills.

Ability to utilize technical skills.

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Schedule

If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
