Public Safety Supervisor


This position is only available to current UCI employees.

The Public Safety Supervisor provides for the general safety and security of the UC Irvine and UC Irvine Health population, physical property, and assets as prescribed by law, regulatory compliance, departmental procedures and guidelines.

Under the direction of UC Irvine Police Department, the Public Safety Supervisor supports the goals and objectives of the department through the direct supervision of public safety officers (PSO) and public safety ambassadors (PSA). The Public Safety Supervisor monitors and directs security operations while supervising PSO & PSA personnel.

Salary: Hourly $27.65
Total Hours: Flexible
2 Career Positions.
Must participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
Must be able to wear PPE.
Must successfully complete annual taser certification.
Work variable shifts, including: evenings; nights; weekends; and holidays.
Current State of California Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security Investigative Services (BSIS) prior to hire.
As a condition of employment, must successfully complete an extensive background investigation and pre-employment medical examination.
Required to successfully complete an FBI fingerprinting process.
Successfully complete a State of California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training 832 PC Arrest course and certification within initial six months of employment.
Successfully complete the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety supervisor certification within initial six months of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
Must maintain eligibility pursuant to state and federal regulations to carry a tazer throughout employment.
Final candidate subject to background check.
As a federal contractor, UC Irvine is required to use E-Verify to confirm the work status of individuals assigned to perform substantial work under certain federal contracts/subcontracts.
