Medical Assistant II

The Medical Assistant assists physicians with patient examination, procedures, and treatment. This position supports high volume for specialty providers. Responsible for patient histories; routine lab procedures; and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab. Accurately and efficiently completes patient visit EMR intake and end of visit summary.. Follows up on test orders and reports results to the physician and patient; provides and maintains patient education materials; maintains medical equipment; inventories clinical and drug supplies. Complies with assigned monthly collateral duties. Will obtain clinical, financial, and demographic information. Sends daily outside reports/records/consents for scanning. Will handle patient scheduling, registration and preparation, clinical coordination including clinic appointments and surgeries, medication administration, performance of simple procedures, specimen collection, patient discharge, patient health care needs, following Universal Precautions, participates in the patient flow process. Responsible for answering all Quest inbox, messages, prescription refills, medication and appointment prior authorization and patient appeals, heavy phone volume and performs other duties as assigned.
The employee training and development will be scheduled at the Medical Center and at the Irvine
Campus. The Full time position will be in Campus, Irvine at the Gottschalk Medical Plaza.

Salary: Hourly $20.33 - $22.45
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
2 Career Position.
