Job Description:

The Department of Biology at Saint Michael's College invites applications for a three-year appointment for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology, starting August 2019. This is a full-time position, with the potential for conversion to tenure-track during or at the end of the term. This position is one of several new faculty lines for 2019 that are supporting an exciting campus-growth initiative in health sciences, public health and health care administration.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach introduction to public health, epidemiology, and at least two of the following courses: microbiology, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, and general biology. This individual will contribute to student advisement and mentoring, and engage in scholarly activities, ideally in a field that can provide opportunities for student involvement. Please note that the Biology Department does not have facilities to maintain live mammals or birds; the successful candidate should have a research program compatible with an undergraduate institution.

  • Ph.D. in biology or related field, completed by August, 2019
