The Department of English Language and Literature announces courses available for the Fall 2018 Semester.
The program anticipates that we may need instructors for Creative Writing 201, a general education course that introduces students to diverse genres in creative writing. Instructors are expected to introduce students to fiction and poetry as well as one other creative writing genre in the areas of performance writing, new media, or creative nonfiction.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules and policies.
Perform related duties as required.
Successful applicants will have a graduate degree in creative writing, experience writing in more than one genre, and a publication and teaching history that demonstrates knowledge of the field of creative writing as an interdisciplinary pursuit.
