The thriving Physical Therapy Program at the University of Colorado (CU) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Director of the Physical Therapy Program and Associate Dean for Physical Therapy Education. The University of Colorado Physical Therapy (PT) Program is a top tier, nationally ranked (#15 in latest US News and World Report rankings), CAPTE-accredited program housing an innovative Doctorate in Physical Therapy educational program, PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences program, and a robust research enterprise. Established in 1948, the PT Program has graduated well over 2,000 Physical Therapists. Currently, the PT Program consists of 29 outstanding faculty and 7 dedicated staff educating approximately 70 students and PhD candidates every year. The University of Colorado PT program has been distinguished by its excellent faculty, innovative DPT curriculum, post-graduate pediatric residency, successful PhD program, record of federally funded research programs, and dynamic collaborations on the state-of-the-art Anschutz Medical Campus. The Program has successfully produced a strong network of supportive alumni and clinical faculty throughout the Rocky Mountain Region and United States. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Senior Associate Dean of Education, School of Medicine. The search committee seeks the next visionary leader for the University of Colorado Physical Therapy Program at the rank of full Professor or Associate Professor. The next leader will continue to advance the field of Physical Therapy, interprofessional education, and various lines of research. Academic rank and competitive salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Prior experiences should include graduate teaching, a strong record of externally funded scholarship and research, national service, prior positions of increased academic responsibility, leadership and management accomplishments, and a demonstrated ability to work with varied internal and external constituencies. Other desirable qualities include ability to execute a vision and strategy; strong business acumen; high scientific standards; consensus building; and positive mindset. This leader should be visible on the national/international level and aware of national trends.
The PT Program resides within the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus, one of the newest and most innovative education, research and patient care facilities in the world. Candidate must have an earned post-professional doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, ScD), have graduated from an accredited physical therapy program, and have held a previous ranking at an academic institution of Associate Professor or higher.
