Position Summary: This position is a primary staff position in the Sports Medicine Department of the Campus Health Service. This position will serve as an Athletic Trainer for the football team and provide athletic training services for all students including varsity and non-varsity athletes. The Athletic Trainer will participate actively in the clinical education of the Sports Medicine Department employees, including graduate and undergraduate programs for Athletic Training students housed in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. In addition, the Athletic Trainer will participate in the clinical training of the many health care professionals-in-training, residents, and medical students on the Sports Medicine Service and other allied health students that are involved in affiliations with the Sports Medicine Program. Where appropriate, this position will participate in the research activities carried out by the Sports Medicine Program. The Associate Director of Sports Medicine will supervise this position.

Education Requirements: The minimum level of formal education necessary to perform the duties of the athletic trainer is the Master's Degree with NATA Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer as well as NC Athletic Trainer Licensure.

Qualification and Experience: Must have or be eligible for North Carolina athletic trainer licensure and have two years of work experience with either Division 1A intercollegiate athletics. Prefer three years full-time work experience in a college athletic training setting; prefer experience with football and supervising student athletic trainers; and clinical research experience.
