Position Summary: The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applicants for a Teaching Assistant Professor position effective July 1, 2019. The position is for an initial term of three years, and is renewable upon review. We seek a dynamic person who is prepared to teach and redesign undergraduate math courses, particularly courses in the calculus sequence in a large-enrollment setting. The successful candidate will also be expected to serve as a course coordinator to manage a team of faculty and graduate student TAs, to perform administrative duties in support of teaching, such as managing placement testing or supervising undergraduate classroom assistants, and to collaborate with other faculty members engaged in similar efforts.

Education Requirements: A Ph.D. degree or equivalent degree in mathematics, math education, or a closely related field.
Qualification and Experience: Knowledge of scholarship in mathematics teaching and learning, experience teaching at the college level, and experience in curriculum design.
