Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Adolescent Medicine has an opening for a full time (1.0FTE) faculty position at the rank of Instructor-Advanced Practice Provider. This is a 100% clinical position. The provider will be a key member in the Adolescent Family Planning Clinic providing primary care and sexual health services to adolescents and young adults. This clinical position will function from the Children's Hospital Colorado Outpatient Clinics and will rotate between 4 clinic locations throughout the front range. This position will be expected to provide independent direct clinical services for patients seen in the Adolescent Family Planning Program.

Examples of Work Performed:

• Independent clinical services for patients in the Adolescent Family Planning Clinic;
• Provide primary care for adolescents and young adults;
• Provide specialty care in reproductive health for adolescents and young adults;
• Collecting detailed patient history;
• Assessment and treatment for adolescents and young adults;
• Perform relevant screenings and counseling for intimate partner violence, depression and substance abuse;
• Provide education and care coordination as needed.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates may be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is $95,000 and is negotiable and commensurate with skills, experience and service with the University of Colorado. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree (MSN or MPAS)
• APN Licensure - and Women's Health, Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner certification OR Physician Assistant certification
• 2-3 years of clinical experience with adolescents and young adults

Conditions of Employment:

• Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offender background check

Required Competencies: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to provide health services and an understanding of the complexity for caring for adolescent patients;
• Knowledge surrounding practices of the insertion of IUD, Nexplanon and related procedures;
• Ability to diagnose and provide treatment of STI's;
• Ability to teach and supervise trainees;
• Familiar with practicing delivery of confidential services surrounding sensitive topics such as sexual health, sexually transmitted diseases, dating violence, and other related topics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years' experience in a clinical training environment;
• 3 years' experience supporting Women's Health and Adolescents;
• Experience working with under-served and vulnerable populations;
• Spanish speaking.
