Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Instructional Support Assistant is a valuable member of our team who provides Customer Service support and oversight for the customer service center. The TH Instructional Support Assistant will report directly to the Associate Director for Facilities and Plant Operations.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.

Duties of the this TH Instructional Support Assistant may include the following but are not limited to:

• Answer the telephone calls, e-mails and other forms of customer contact in a prompt, courteous and professional manner, collect all details pertaining to the issue and utilize TMS System to provide first level troubleshooting and support. Provide excellent customer service and support.

• Monitor the Emergency Line with prompt responses to issues. Report to the shift supervisor or manager all issues or unusual conditions and escalate to support personnel as necessary.

• Process weekly and monthly reporting from the TMS System to include customer service.

• Maintain excellent communication with co-workers, internal personnel and management, including visiting customers or departments and reporting/escalating issues with Supervisor or Department Managers.

• Support the Division of Facilities, Plant Operations, and Hospital Custodial Services Departments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: AAS degree and two years experience either in a help desk or customer service environment. In lieu of degree, HS diploma and four years experience either in a help desk or customer service environment. Experience with Microsoft word/Excel/PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Help Desk or Customer Service position in a Healthcare environment.

All Hospital positions are subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary. This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair.

The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation. Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services (The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination), submit (3) written references, and provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
