Job Summary

As a full time member of the faulty of the Department of Pediatrics Section of Nephrology and sharing in all clinical, teaching, research and scholarly activities and responsibilities of the Section, this position will provide pediatric Nephrology support through clinical, academic and research related activities.


Examples of Work Performed

Share in all of the clinical (including on-call), teaching and scholarly activities of the Section of Nephrology, Department of Pediatrics.

Provide direct clinical care to children with a wide array of nephrological issues, with a focus on outpatients acutely or chronically cared for in the Kidney Center, in settings such as the Infusion and Procedure Centers and possibly also in the inpatient setting.

Provide teaching to nurses and related staff, fellows, residents, and medical student

Help develop, implement, and update various care protocols (e.g. related to routine aspects of blood pressure management, chronic kidney disease care and renal replacement therapy).

Medical degree required with board certification in pediatrics.

Completed ACGME approved Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Training

Salary and Benefits

The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Nature of Work

Minimum Requirements

  • Medical degree required with board certification in pediatrics.
  • Two to four years clinical experience in Nephrology
  • Completed ACGME approved Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Training


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hospital organized medical staff
  • Experience with managed care organizations
  • Demonstration of continuous quality improvement activities
  • Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary, academic health care setting.
  • Experience in a role that is largely comprised of clinical responsibilities.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of internal and external customers with highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive examinations
  • Ability to order medications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with consulting services
  • Ability to educate others
