Posting Summary:
The Office of Procurement and Supplier Diversity Services is seeking a Procurement Analyst to join their team. Procurement and Supplier Diversity Services handles the entire procurement process for academic and administrative departments at the University, from requisition and contract negotiation through ordering, receiving, invoicing and payment. We are also responsible for the disposal of goods that are no longer needed by all University departments, including the Health System.

The Procurement Analyst works with buyers in the purchasing organization within Procurement and Supplier Diversity Services to target savings opportunities, analyze contracts, identify suppliers, inform negotiations, and evaluate contract performance.

A bachelor's degree is required. Experience managing the analysis of information and identify, interpret, and report expenditure and purchasing trends, experience conducting statistical and financial vendor and commodity analysis (e.g., contract comparisons, price analysis) and experience with conducting executive-level presentations are all required. Experience in higher education data analytics are preferred.

Candidates must possess working knowledge of statistical and financial analysis principles, the knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and analysis and reporting of financial data. Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate specific information and communicate with all levels and backgrounds and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to evaluate and interpret information and make recommendations to senior leaders, knowledge of data management, the ability to effectively collect, analyze, synthesize, and present information to multiple constituencies are required. Lastly the ability to work independently or as part of a team and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, the ability to provide direct support to leaders, as needed and the ability to complete tasks without immediate supervision are also required.

Experience in word processing, spreadsheet, data visualization and database management software is required. Working knowledge of Tableau, Qlik, one or more major procurement/e-commerce software products such as Oracle ERP and Jaggaer (Sciquest) or other e-commerce software is preferred. Expert level Microsoft Access and Excel experience and predictive Analytics experience are highly desirable.
