Job Description

**Must be a current student at TAMUCT to apply and must be eligible for Federal Work Study Program and be able to provide approved Federal Work Study documentation. **

Job Title: FWS Student Worker

Position Title: Student Federal Work-Study (Office of Student Success)

Work Schedule: Flexibility required based on need of Student Success office and student availability

Hours per week: Averaging 15hrs/week

Wage: $8/hr.

Job Description: The Office of Student Success /Academic Support is looking for a work-study student to assist with the following responsibilities;

  • Provide occasional front desk relief, greeting students/visitors, and answering telephone calls.
  • Provide support in mailing/emailing correspondence to students.
  • Assist in collecting feedback via telephone from users of the Tutoring Center and online Tutor.com.
  • Assist with data entry and compilation of information from users of academic support programs.
  • Provide support for student success workshops and assist with printing and assembling handouts.
  • Assist with GRE Workshop preparation, in particular printing and assembling binders.
  • Assist with student outreach and marketing of academic support programs to students on/off campus.
  • Update and maintain Office of Student Success display boards across campus by posting flyers.
  • General office duties including; filing, shredding, and running errands on campus.
  • Perform other administrative duties or special projects as required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, professional, and friendly attitude.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to deal effectively with people in difficult situations.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Must be willing to adhere to FERPA guidelines.
  • Must be eligible for the federal work-study program.
