Help Desk IT Support Associate

Department: Information Technology Services

Position Summary: Governors State University (GSU) seeks applications for a IT Support Associate to provide helpdesk support for student, faculty, and staff. Duties include (but not limited to) responding to tickets, diagnosing and resolving various PC/Desktop and Audio/Video technical issues, ticket escalation, support of hardware, software, operating systems, general day to day helpdesk services, and other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Minimum Qualifications: 1. High school graduation or equivalent 2. Any combination totaling one year from the following categories: --progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession --60 semester hours of college coursework or an Associate's degree which included Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Business

Preferred Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree 2. Knowledge and experience of customer service practices. 3. Relevant training certifications in industry topics. Examples include CompTIA, Microsoft certification, or ITIL Foundation center. 4. Progressively more responsible work experience in Information Technology (IT), totaling three years of related experience and/or training in troubleshooting and providing technical support.

Work Schedule: Full-time; Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 30 minute unpaid lunch
