Clinical Services Technician/UKHC

Job description



This position is essential to outpatient clinic flow and patient care. The provider, patient and clinic team relies on the CST to provide basic medical support, patient care and customer service in an efficient manner. This person will be responsible for customer service, data entry, medical records, and phlebotomy/triage. The chosen candidate will be responsible for patient registration, patient scheduling, and checking patients out. Experience with PM, RSS and/or APM will be extremely helpful. He/she will also perform duties pertaining to phlebotomy/triage including obtaining vital signs, notifying nurses of changes, and performing venipuncture per policy and procedure. Must maintain patient confidentiality. Helping patients with questions, answering phones, filing, and applying insurance regulations will be just a few of the responsibilities. This person will interact with diverse professionals therefore teamwork, hard work, and a sense of humor is required. A professional and helpful attitude will be key to this person's success.

Required Related Experience

Required License/ Registration/Certification

Have one or more of the following: 1. Kentucky Registered SRNA, 2. RN nursing student who has completed first fundamental course and a clinical, 3. Military Medic, 4. Acquired clinical services technician (CST) competencies through continuous employment in a CST role at UKHC for 12 months, 5. Graduate from a medical assistant program.
BLS at time of hire through American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider.



Physical Requirements

The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
