General Summary: The University of North Georgia Continuing Education department is seeking swim helpers for our swim program. Helpers will assist the swim director in teaching multiple skill levels from ages three and up. Helpers will also demonstrate and teach various safety techniques. Helpers will employ a variety of techniques and creative play games to acclimate younger children to the water experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Swim Helper will:

  • Assist swim director with swim instruction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have excellent swimming ability and knowledge of general safety practices in and around a pool.
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • May be required to pass a swim skills test in the water before hire

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements: Prior experience teaching swim lessons preferred. Experience working with young children preferred. Swim team experience or lifeguarding experience preferred.
CPR, Lifeguarding, and/or Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.
