A post-doctoral Scholar/Researcher/Fellow position is available in an NSF-funded laboratory in the Biomedical Sciences Department of the Florida State University College of Medicine for up to 3 years. The laboratory is focused on studying the novel role of the histone variant H3.3 in DNA repair using multiple model systems including cultured patient-derived primary cells, established human cell lines, budding yeast, fruit flies and mice. The laboratory uses multiple molecular, cell biological, biochemical and genetic approaches and tools, including genomic-scale studies, mass spectrometry and live cell microscopy.

Responsibilities will include performing molecular biological, biochemical, cell biological and genomics experiments as well as data management and analysis, followed by preparation and publication of the results in peer-reviewed journals. Additional responsibilities may include supervising/training junior laboratory personnel.


Ph.D. degree in an appropriate field.


Experience with genomics, bioinformatics, computer programming, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, cell culture or confocal microscopy is highly desirable, but not essential.

Anticipated Salary Range

Starting salary will be dependent on previous experience and qualifications.

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
