Early Childhood Education Adjunct Instructor

Position Summary:

This position may require the instructor to teach at any one of the NLU campuses, off-site at a community based setting and/or online.

The National College of Education at National Louis University is currently looking for adjunct faculty to teach courses and lead cohorts in the Early Childhood Education Master of Arts in Teaching program. Experience and interest in teaching in alternative licensure and residency programs is beneficial. Courses in the ECE MAT program are typically taught in the evenings or online and range in a variety of topics including, but not limited to: infant/toddler development & programming, pre-k and early primary lesson planning, assessment and curriculum development, practicum and student teaching.


The ideal candidate for this position will hold, minimally, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or closely related field). Persons considered for this position must have at least 3 years of experience working in the early care and education field in either K-2nd grade, pre-k, infant/toddler and/or child care administration (a combination of experiences is preferred). Knowledge of family child care is a plus. Also important to this position is that candidates have knowledge of statewide child care systems as well as the process for obtaining a Professional Educator’s License in Illinois.
*Current teaching experience preferred.
