Assistant/Associate Professor of Writing
Field of Specialization: Poetry.
The Writing Program of Columbia University School of the Arts seeks to fill a tenure-track position in poetry beginning fall 2019. The position will be filled at the level of assistant or associate professor, commensurate with experience. The Program aims to attract dynamic and dedicated teachers with significant publication history, a commitment to service, and a potential for leadership. The position’s teaching load includes primarily graduate as well as some undergraduate writing workshops and seminars.
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates for the tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in poetry must have published at least one book with a nationally-recognized press. They must also demonstrate the potential to make significant contributions to their professional and artistic fields as well as to their areas of pedagogy. A strong commitment to the teaching of writers must be in evidence. Significant teaching experience of both graduate and undergraduate students is preferred.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
