Co-manager of the MTP Post Production Facilities, works in conjunction with the Audio Post Production Manager and the Digital Post Production Manager. Film Post Production Manager of all TRF film post facilities, providing technical expertise to student and faculty members. Responsible for the operation, staffing, basic maintenance and troubleshooting (including preventative & training collateral) for the film post facilities. Hires, trains, schedules, manages and assesses ca. 17 student staff members to support the Film post facilities and activities. Performs as liaison to the VMA faculty regarding the support of the curriculum and assists with advanced student projects. Communicates planning and implementation of post production needs with VMA faculty and other TRF employees. Researches new software and hardware products & techniques, sharing information with relevant faculty, staff, and students. Provides specialized film and digital technical and operational expertise during budgetary processes. Works closely with other post production managers to create a forward thinking vision of post production facilities, workflows, policies and procedures.

BA in related field. High level of computer literacy on Mac and PC. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Professional mastery of 16mm film production and post production, including Steenbeck editing, projectors, AVID Media Composer, and relevant post production hardware/software. Extensive knowledge of various post production workflows, including sound and image, digital and analog, standard definition to 4K, surround sound, media and project management, editing techniques and deliverables. Ability to troubleshoot issues with 16mm editing consoles and NLE computers. Ability to supervise and train a diverse team of student employees with varying degrees of knowledge. Ability to assess student employee abilities and delegate responsibilities in a way that advances student knowledge and accomplishes project goals. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to co-manage and thrive in a diverse workplace as a team player, with attention to detail. Service excellence orientation.
MFA or other advanced degree in related field. Skills in hiring, scheduling, planning, and budgeting of professional or non-professional (student) work force. Experience with planning and budgeting of post production facility upgrades. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci Resolve, Pro Tools, Maya, Final Cut Pro, Oxberry, Optical Printers, A/B negative cutting, DCP creation, Webcheckout vending software and network storage. Knowledge of studio/facility design, installation, wiring and equipment troubleshooting.
Required Prior Work Experience:
5 years experience in film and digital post production in a professional environment. Experience working with clients in a professional environment.
