Assistant Professor Pharmacogenomics/Precision Medicine

Job description

The Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy, together with the George and Anne Ryan Institute for Neuroscience, University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track, Assistant Professor position. The URI College of Pharmacy ranked 11th in federal research funding in the nation and hosts several research centers and state-of-the-art core facilities. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2019.

The applicants must have a PhD and post-doctoral training and are expected to have demonstrated high impact contributions through innovative research in precision medicine specifically for the diagnosis or treatment of neurodegenerative, cardiovascular or inflammatory disorders. Individuals with research interest in pharmacogenomics, pharmacokinetics, translational sciences, sequencing or mass spectrometry-based proteomics or metabolomics are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program, contribute to teaching professional students (PharmD), B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and graduate programs and participate in service activities.
