A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately in Dr. Graham Casey's laboratory within the Center for Public Health Genomics at the University of Virginia, USA. The successful candidate will study genes and pathways involved in colon crypt stem cell dysregulation in the early stages of colorectal cancer development.
Our approach involves studying enhancer usage and their gene targets in colon crypt maturation using ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, and characterizing the role of enhancer target genes/pathways in colorectal cancer development using normal human colon 3D organoid ("mini-gut") models. The long-term goal of these studies is to develop novel prevention approaches for colorectal cancer.
