Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's degree in applied linguistics, language education, linguistics, second language acquisition, or a related field required. PhD in one of these areas preferred.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

One year of pre- or post-degree experience teaching Chinese to English speakers at the college level required. Experience in supervising teaching assistants and curriculum development is preferred.

Position Summary:

The Faculty Associate in Chinese will teach three courses per semester as part of the Chinese Language program in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures. The person hired into this position will also be expected to participate in creating the content and materials of new advanced Chinese language courses, and be willing to plan and participate in other various activities to enhance the Chinese language program.
