The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for a faculty position as a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Research. The candidate would work closely with Drs. Krupnick (MD), Laubach (PhD) as well as multiple post-doctoral fellows and research associates in the study of solid organ transplants. S/He would be expected to dedicate the majority of time to murine lung transplantation research and would be expected to work well as part of a large team investigating methods of tolerance induction, graft rejection and ischemia/reperfusion injury.

Qualified candidates must have a PhD or equivalent. The ideal candidate would have greater than two years' experience in lung transplant research and be highly versed in murine models of lung transplantation. Previous experience in murine microsurgery is highly preferred. Experience consisting of national presentations and/or publications on the effects of the microbiome on lung allograft immunology is a plus.
