Posting Summary:
The Summer Enrichment Program at the Curry School of Education is seeking applicants for Counselors to staff its residential summer program for gifted and/or high ability students from June 9th, 2019 to July 27th, 2019. Counselors are responsible for 8 campers, providing supervision during meals, evenings, and weekends, including overnight. They are responsible for activities such as large group games, sports, mental-challenges, talent show, all-camp BBQ, field day, and swimming at a UVA pool. In addition, Counselors teach a mini-seminar and are responsible for developing that curriculum and teaching it once during each session. Meals and housing are provided for all counselors selected for hire.

Applicants must have completed at least one year of college by June 2019. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to make sound decisions showing excellent judgment are essential. Applicants must be able to support children and adolescents in rising fifth through eleventh grades. Experience supervising children in a camp, recreational, or school setting is preferred. Counselors must also work collaboratively with other counseling staff.

In addition, applicants must submit two recommendations using the Residential Counselor Reference Form.
