Research Technician- Biomedical Sciences-18001628

The Department of Biomedical Sciences provides an environment that fosters and supports biomedical research with a focus on NIH funded projects. The present position is one supported by a grant awarded to Dr. Vassoler, a member of the Section of Translational Neuroscience, who will supervise the activities of the newly hired research technician.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual for a 2-year research technician position beginning immediately. This individual will be responsible for data collection and management for studies involving both behavioral and molecular neuroscience endpoints. Other responsibilities will include general lab maintenance, including inventory control as well as duties related to animal husbandry. Prior experience with lab animals is preferred. Opportunities for professional development related to scientific writing and presentation may be available. Weekend work will be required.


Basic Requirements:
Applicant should have a BA or BS with specialization in neuroscience, biology, chemistry, and/or psychology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in behavioral testing and molecular biology is preferred.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:
The hire will need to occasionally work weekend hours.
