The Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a calendar-year Clinical Associate Professor position beginning January 1, 2019.

Position is full-time calendar year, non-union faculty, limited to 06-22-2019 with anticipated renewal.

Responsible for the overall operation of the online MS in Dietetics Program. Work from the Kingston, RI campus and represent the Program face-to-face with University, College, and Department administration, faculty, and staff.  Determine the material included in the Program in the areas of medical nutrition therapy, clinical nutrition management, community nutrition, and research. Ensure material follows accreditation standards of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Design and implement the Program using best practices for online instruction, including meeting Quality Matters standards. Manage and teach online courses, including Introduction to Clinical Practice (NFS 560), and Research in Dietetic Specialization (NFS 570). Hire, train, and evaluate instructors to teach online courses. Supervise staff hired to support the development of course material and implementation of the Program. Serve as the liaison to dietetic internship programs, facilitate the integration of the MS Program and the internship programs, and coordinate experiential learning assignments. Select, advise, and mentor graduate students. Process all forms for application, registration, and graduation. Oversee technology needs of the Program including selection and use of course management systems and statistical analysis programs. Determine new technology appropriate for the Program. Maintain Program websites and social media sites. Manage a university budget for the Program, funded solely by tuition revenue. Evaluate the effectiveness of the Program and create University program assessment reports. Perform research on effectiveness of online instruction in dietetics education and present results at professional meetings and/or in scientific journals.
