Associate Vice President for Facilities Management and Development

Job description

Albion College invites applications for the position of Associate Vice President for Facilities Management and Development. The Associate Vice President for Facilities Management and Development (AVP) provides leadership and professional direction to a comprehensive facilities services department that includes facilities management, grounds management, custodial services, and facilities construction and capital project management.  The AVP reports directly to the vice president for finance and administration and is a member of the vice president’s senior leadership team.  The AVP interacts with a broad array of constituencies which includes the Board of Trustees, the President’s senior leadership team, students, faculty and staff, and works diligently with architects, contractors, consultants and engineers on all projects related to the development of the Albion College campus.  The AVP works collaboratively with the vice president to initiate and support diversity and inclusion relative to all campus constituencies and to support sustainable, responsive, and effect programs in facilities and grounds to provide financial stability and support of the strategic mission of the College.  The AVP leads the campus master planning process and stewardship of physical resources.

FLSA Classification: Salaried / Exempt / Administrative and Executive

Status: Full-Time

Duration: 12 months per year

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive experience relative to all facets of facilities management
  • Professional involvement with national and regional associations related to facilities management (e.g. APPA and MAPPA)
  • Other certifications in facilities management highly desired
  • Must have a valid, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan driver’s license and clearing initial and periodic driving record checks
