The Department of Campus Technology Services at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a Telecommunications Coordinator for a two-year temporary appointment.

Description of Responsibilities: The Telecommunications Coordinator will work with and lead a team responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the telephone infrastructure for SUNY Oswego. This team is also responsible for all services related to the phone system including voicemail, call queues and billing. Other responsibilities of the team include computer operations, management of the data center, building mail distribution and staffing the main campus phone exchange. This position may require some evening and weekend work.

In addition, the Telecommunications Coordinator will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree by time of appointment
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience supporting telecommunication systems
  • Knowledge of Voice Over Internet  Protocol (VOIP) systems
  • Ability to work well under pressure, have excellent customer service skills, and be able to work collegially and effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CISCO VOIP solution including Unity
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with other CISCO systems
  • Demonstrated skills with structured cabling
