Assistant Professor of Media and Entertainment School of Communication and Media

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Media and Entertainment faculty position in the School of Communication and Media which begins August 2019.

We seek someone who can bring innovative teaching, engaged scholarship, service, and practical experiences to the classroom and can add to the intellectual climate of the School. Collegiality and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary School are essential.

Candidates should possess experience in teaching upper-division required and elective Media and Entertainment courses, such as Fundamentals of Media and Entertainment Studies; Global Media Systems; Uses and Effects of Mass Media; Gender, Race, and Media; Film and Video Structure and Process; and our Media and Entertainment Capstone. There is also a possibility of teaching School-wide courses such as Communication Research Methods and Communication Theory, and courses in our graduate programs. Faculty in the school teach in a variety of modalities: face to face, hybrid, and online.

An earned doctorate degree in communication, mass communication or a related field, or the foreign equivalent is required. Applicant must also demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence, have a record of continuing or promising scholarly activity, and possess a commitment to mentoring and advising students.
