Position Summary:


The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks a full-time, tenure-track, faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor with teaching and research focus on the economics of agriculture in the United States. This is an academic (nine-month) faculty appointment.

The successful candidate will conduct research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses (current teaching load is two courses per year), and serve as an advisor to graduate and undergraduate students. Specifically, we seek an agricultural or applied economist with the quantitative and empirical skills needed to contribute to the Department's core missions, who also has interest in pursuing research topics that add to the University's capacity in the economics of agriculture broadly defined. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with a college-wide data science initiative. This position carries a commitment to the three functions of resident instruction, research, and outreach, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to the position and rank.
