The University of California, Irvine has an opportunity for a postdoctoral positions within the laboratories of Andrea Tenner and Ali Mortazavi to work on projects related to neuroinflammatory mechanims of Alzheimer's disease. This position will focus on mouse behavior testing and immunohistochemistry and/or biochemical analysis. Prior experience in neurobiology or immunology and behavior testing is required. Experience with immunohistochemistry including superresolution microscopy would be a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and initiative. The goal of this project is to determine the contribution of complement-dependent pathways in neurobiological systems to enable therapeutic intervention in Alzheimer's disease.
In addition to the two PIs, the successful candidate will consult with others in UCI's highly interactive and innovative neuroscience and immunology community. Candidate must have a have a record of completed graduate research that can be applied to the fields of interest listed above with a strong publication record. The position will be appointed at the level that is commensurate with the education and experience of the individual candidate and is for a period of one year with the possibility of renewal.
