Office of Admissions
This position serves as a regional recruiter that works remotely from a home based office in South Florida. With a special emphasis on first-generation and socio-economically disadvantaged students, responsible for assisting with the management, administration, planning and coordination of regional recruitment activities for South Florida and the implementation of University policies and procedures as they relate to Freshman/First Time in College (FTIC) Admissions. Assists in the evaluation of Freshman/FTIC applications.
Recruits freshman/FTIC students to the University with a special emphasis on first-generation and socio-economically disadvantaged students. Serves as a regional recruiter for South Florida, travels throughout Florida and out of state. Counsels prospective students and their family members about the application process for general admission and to the Summer Bridge Program through CARE. Participates in special events hosted by the Office of Admissions such as Preview and counselor workshops as needed. Frequent contact with prospective students, applicants and their parents, the general public, officials and personnel associated with colleges/community colleges/universities, and high school counselors. Provides interpretation of policies and procedures to aforementioned entities. Some contact with principals and teachers. Shares in the planning and coordination of staff recruitment schedules and activities. Due to travel needs, position requires operation of a motor vehicle.
Takes part in the evaluation of freshman/FTIC applications for admission to the University, including CARE Summer Bridge program applications. Assists local high schools and prospective students with admission application submissions to help increase application completion rates. Responsible for the implementation of University policies and procedures as they relate to Undergraduate Admissions.
Coordinates recruiting efforts with Seminole Clubs and Alumni Chapters. Must have ability to collect and analyze data to assess recruiting effectiveness.
Reviews and evaluates policies and procedures, making suggestions and recommendations to senior leadership. Shares in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and staffing in the Office of Admissions. Provide remote assistance to other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Admissions.
A Bachelor's degree and one year of experience, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years. Experience should be relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job. Qualified candidates will possess the ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously. Experience counseling and/or providing expertise and advice is required. Qualified candidates will have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software.

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of complimentary experience preferred. We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented, and who work well independently as well as in a team. Experience working with diverse populations, reviewing transcripts, and interpreting and applying admissions tests is preferred. Candidates should have the ability to review, analyze, formulate, and organize data and information and follow through on assignments.
Applicants should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Candidates with a strong sense of initiative and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently are preferred. The ability to make sound judgments while working in a deadline-driven environment is essential.
Anticipated Salary Range
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, from 8-5pm, however position does require flexibility and ability to occasionally work outside of the typical work schedule, particularly during department's peak times.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
