Program Coordinator for Fellowship Advising

Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Fellowship Advising Office (FAO) provides a variety of services to NC State students and alumni. Some of these services include: * Providing information on fellowship opportunities and application procedures * Reviewing and critiquing application essays and statements * Providing institutional endorsements for applicants who receive the campus nomination (for those fellowships that require nominations) * Submitting application materials on behalf of applicants * Staging mock interviews for applicants selected for regional interviews The Fellowship Advising Office (FAO) works with students interested in applying for these and many other prestigious national fellowships.
Essential Job Duties: The Program Coordinator for Fellowship Advising will report directly to the Director and will be responsible for coordinating the programmatic efforts of the unit. The Program Coordinator processes documentation, assists in the planning and execution of workshops and seminars, coordinates logistics for committee meeting and visiting guests, develops and maintains print and web materials for students and faculty, compiles and maintains data and produces reports. The Program Coordinator also assesses the needs of and directs students to appropriate staff and resources. Responsibilities include: * Manage deadlines and confidential documents related to the application process for students applying for prestigious awards and fellowships * Coordinate the NC State Fulbright application process including faculty committee scheduling, documents collection, packet preparation, and interview scheduling * Plan FA events: coordinate, strategize, implement, and execute events and programs for FA, work with Director to plan annual reception and awards recognition ceremony for students * Work with DASA Marketing and Communications to draft, edit, and produce the annual FA publications * Create and maintain outreach materials for FA including website, marketing, publicity, communications, and social media - publicize student achievements on FA website and other campus media outlets * Assist the Director with presentations for FA opportunities/services through class visits/student organization outreach * Promote FA schedule of awards, deadlines, and workshops in campus media/social networking sites * Coordinate online video tutorials for all FA awards
Minimum Education/Experience: * Bachelor's degree and at least three years of work experience in related field
Department Required Skills: * Experience advising students and interacting with faculty * Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality * Strong organizational and communication skills * Excellent time management skills * Demonstrated ability to work as an effective and collaborative team member * Ability to take direction and work independently * Demonstrated willingness to take initiative * Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion * Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students * Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Master's degree and publicity and promotion experience and design experience preferred
