Position Information
The R'Shared Services Center (R'SSC) is one of four campus shared services centers, providing time and attendance, workforce administration, leave administration, and onboarding transaction support, to approximately 40% of UCR's employees (faculty, staff, and students). Organizations served include, Business and Administrative Services, Integrated Technology Services, Chancellor/Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor, Academic Planning and Budget, Facilities Services, Athletics, School of Medicine, Undergraduate Education, University Advancement and Enrollment Services. The R'SSC is a high volume production operation, with a critical need for current data, information, metrics, and analysis to inform planning, scheduling, tracking and decision making, and to ensure accountability with client service partnership agreements. The Business Process and Reporting Analyst serves the R'Shared Services Center (R'SSC) as a seasoned, experienced professional providing consultation, project management of significant data sets and information that will be accessed, assembled, and integrated in support of all aspects of the R'SSC's operations. Under the general supervision of the R'SSC Director, the Analyst will work independently to develop/recommend administrative procedures and/or policies, query multiple business applications, tools and systems, to extract data and information necessary to prepare reports concerning the type, number, status and accuracy of the various service requests and related transactions processed by unit. The incumbent will oversee progress, troubleshoot, plan and coordinate projects with multiple deadlines and complex components. The incumbent will apply professional and analytical skills, to aid R'SSC management in planning work assignments and workflow, diagnosing root causes of issues and errors, problem-solving, budget/workforce planning and to support the development and evaluation of department processes and procedures to improve service delivery and the client experience. Please note: University of California career employees who have passed their probationary period will receive priority consideration for this position. If a qualified pool of internal candidates is not identified, qualified external candidates may be considered at the discretion of the hiring department.

Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals/analyses.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to function as a member of a cohesive team.
Demonstrated knowledge and solid skill in math, quantitative analysis and problem solving, including being able to independently performing research to identify key variables/data and identifying options and approaches to resolve issues. Ability to identify interrelationships/dependencies and forecast outcomes given changing parameters and assumptions.
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to maintain collaborative and collegial working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders within the R'SSC and across the greater campus community.
Skills creating workflow maps, diagrams, and analytical and narrative reports.


Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

Working knowledge and/or experience with methodologies and tools such as Activity Based Costing, LEAN Six Sigma and the Balanced Score Card.

Working knowledge with UC/UCR enterprise systems and tools e.g., HRDW, Superdope, Service Now, People Soft, TARS.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
