Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Individual will explore the mechanism of carcinogenesis in the mammary epithelium by focusing on the crosstalk between cancer and stromal cells. The individual will also investigate the pro-oncogenic activity of Notch signaling pathway with particular emphasis on the identification of genes that are activated by notch and elicit mitogenic responses. Individual will also explore the activity of various chemokines in carcinogenesis and will evaluate if manipulation of their activity provides opportunities for therapeutic interventions. Extensive use of transgenic/mutant mice will be utilized. The individual will be responsible for Genomic analysis of Peromyscus species maintained at the Peromyscus Genetic Stock Center.

Required Education and Experience

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry or related disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

Publications in high-impact professional journals


Experience with laboratory animals and specifically mutant mice, tissues culture
