Position Summary

CTBR, located at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, NC, conducts research on variety of federally funded projects. This position is expected to perform research on an NIH funded project within the research area of alcoholic liver disease. The research projects aim at understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of alcohol-induced steatosis and hepatitis and exploring preventive and/or therapeutic inteventions.

Responsibilities for this position will include: conducting animal and cell culture experiments, laboratory analysis and data acquisition, presenting research findings at scientific meetings, and preparing manuscripts for publication.

Minimum Qualifications

The minimum qualifications of this position include (1) A PhD degree in the field of biomedicine; (2) A strong background in cellular and molecular biology; and (3) a record of research productivity as evidenced by research presentations and peer-reviewed publications. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to work as a team member are necessary. Recent graduates with expertise in immunology, gastroenterology or hepatology are preferred.
