Founded in 1904, Wentworth Institute of Technology was a vocational tech school in Boston. Over the years it grew dramatically in size and in the quality of its educational offerings. Today, it is a nationally ranked polytechnic university offering a powerful hands-on and career-focused education to students throughout the world. The majority of Wentworth’s 4,200 students are enrolled in 17 bachelor’s degree programs in areas including engineering, architecture, computer science, applied mathematics, business management, computer networking, construction management, and design.
Wentworth’s setting is urban, on 31 acres in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. The university has 552 full-time employees, 276 part-time employees, an annual operating budget of $133 million, and an endowment valued at approximately $113 million.
Wentworth is embarking on a search for its next president. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the president will provide visionary leadership and strategic management of the University. Exemplifying best practices in shared governance, the president will initiate, guide, and support Wentworth’s educational, research, creative, and service missions. The president will build on the University’s strong foundation and legacy of offering top-notch educational and experiential learning opportunities. The president will elevate Wentworth to new heights as a higher educational leader in this twenty-first century innovation and knowledge economy.
