The Stress, Trauma and Adversity Research (START) Center at The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Children's Hospital Colorado invites applications for two Behavioral Health Clinician positions. The START Center is a new initiative aimed at treating, Children, families and adults who are suffering due to the effects of trauma and adversity. Treatment will be multimodal and include a range of evidence based treatments and the development of new interventions. Clinicians will be a member of an interdisciplinary team that will collaborate to provide comprehensive treatment. The START Center is based at the Anschutz Medical and Research Campus, and benefits from affiliation with world class interdisciplinary professional education, research programs and clinical services.

Job Responsibilities:

The Stress, Trauma and Adversity Research and Treatment Center is seeking two experienced, licensed Behavioral Health Clinicians. They will be responsible for direct patient care and safety including diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for children, adolescents, and their families in Outpatient clinics at the Anschutz Medical Campus. These are faculty positions with rank commensurate with the applicant's experience.

Essential Job Functions:

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Provides direct patient care and management of children, adolescents and/or adults by developing and implementing treatment and intervention plans and conducting needs assessment to gather patient information.
  • Develops a therapeutic relationship with patients and families to assist with psychological problems.
  • Completes diagnostic behavioral health assessments for treatment or crisis intervention. Compiles and analyzes data and prepares case records, reports, and documents that comply with state and federal standards in providing case notes, treatment plans, and evaluations.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines or departments on patient care and safety.
  • Leads, monitors, evaluates, and collaborates educational and therapeutic groups for patients; participates in clinical rounds and maintains communication with unit or department leadership.
  • Attends educational in-services for Behavioral Health Clinicians.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work or related field.
  • 2 years in a mental health setting/agency
