Assistant Professor Aerospace Engineering
Job Summary: The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank or higher. Exceptional candidates in aerospace engineering are encouraged to apply; applicants should have teaching and research interests in an area of aerospace engineering. Successful candidates must have demonstrated potential for developing a strong externally funded research program and for excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. An earned Ph.D. in a field closely aligned to mechanical or aerospace engineering is required, and an earned B.S. degree in aerospace engineering from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred. The research areas of the successful applicant must be in a rapidly developing area in which there are strong possibilities for competitive extramural funding. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in collaborative efforts and multi-disciplinary multi-investigator research programs. While all candidates will be considered, the areas of interest include but are not limited to teaching and research expertise in composites, metallic structures, fatigue, fracture mechanics, non-destructive evaluation, systems engineering, spacecraft design and orbital mechanics, and emerging space and non-airbreathing propulsion.
