The Position

The Department of English at Lewis University invites applications for an Assistant Professor beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year.  The successful candidate will have expertise in professional/technical writing and be a specialist in Rhetoric/Composition.  The faculty member will be expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester in courses for majors and non-majors in Professional Writing, Writing in the Disciplines, Editing for Publishing, and Technical Writing; assist the department in establishing and overseeing internships in Professional and Technical Writing; recruit and advise students; and engage in scholarship and research.  This is a full-time, tenure-track position.

Expertise in professional/technical writing and a PhD in Rhetoric/Composition. Three years of college-level teaching excellence. Experience in establishing and overseeing internships. Demonstrated experience in and commitment to teaching first-year writing and upper level writing courses. PhD in hand.
