General Summary of Responsibilities: The Department of Psychology, Counseling & Marriage and Family Therapy seeks applicants for a tenure track, faculty position in Counselor Education. Position responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in school counseling, including individual and group counseling theories and techniques, career, practicum supervision, and an appropriate undergraduate course; mentoring M.Ed., and Ed.S. School Counseling candidates; conducting a research agenda that includes publications, presentations, and grant writing; and providing service to the University and the public schools in the region. The Counselor Education program includes an accredited M.Ed. in Counselor Education including both seated and online classes and a fully online Ed.S. in School Counseling. In addition, the Department is home to an undergraduate psychology program, an M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Gifted in-Field Endorsement. The Department is comprised of twenty-three full-time faculty, with five who are dedicated to the Counselor Education program. Required Qualifications: *Doctorate in Counselor Education or a doctorate in a related field along with employment as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013; *College teaching and supervisory experience; *A primary identification with the profession of school counseling, with a focus on the implementation of the ASCA national model. * Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship. * Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
